In 1945, George D. Wolff Sr. purchased the Pepsi-Cola Bottling Co. of Merrill. In the years that followed, additional territory was purchased, until the franchise included all of Marathon, Lincoln, and Taylor Counties, plus the Eastern part of Clark County. Following World War II, the franchise base was moved to Wausau, Wisconsin.
In May of 1961, George D. Wolff Jr. reorganized the company into Mid-Wisconsin Beverage, Inc. In 1969, George was instrumental in the formation of a central production facility known as WIS PAK, Inc., which today is one of the largest facilities of its kind in the world. In 1970, the Pepsi-Cola franchise in Antigo, Wisconsin was purchased. It covered all of Langlade, Oneida and Forest Counties, plus parts of Shawano, Vilas, Oconto and Florence Counties and the Menominee Indian Reservation.
Franchise growth necessitated the construction of our present facility in 1982. In 1988, the acquisition of the 7-UP Bottling Company of Wausau resulted in our company becoming the dominant soft drink marketer in Northern Wisconsin.
